- They don't like the norms, they don't think they see the world as David and his group does.
David's group thinks they are "half-dumb normals who can never at best make more then a clever guess at anyone else's feelings or thoughts" (93)

In addition to Anastasia's, they feel that they could never settle down with the Norms. That they could not be happy living with them, so it took them as a large surprise when Anne said she would do just that.
